The VT Boys have been building a Case for the BBC MicroBit

The VT Boys have been building a Case for the BBC MicroBit last week on our 3d printer, we are putting the 3d printer at good use. Currently we have been printing 130 hours on our printer. We have made our own printer spools, phone stands, coasters, USB organisers, HDD caddies and lots more.
Last week VT Girl No.4 and Mr.Gadget have been building in Minecraft and made lots of creations, from big buildings to rollercoasters, they are both really good at it. Mr.Gadget also had some good news, he is going to move house soon, to a bigger and newer house, just outside Wisbech, I am sure he is going to be happy there as he is getting a bigger room.
We had a lovely lunch and dinner and ice cream for afters, the drive to Wisbech was great as it was sunny and quite on the road.

The VT Boys have been building a new phone stand

The VT Boys have been building a new phone stand for the Nexus 6P as we found a nice design on the internet. The 3D printer was printing the model on the way, we realist that we are running out of printing filement, so we stopped the printer and changed it with another colour, did worked brilliantly so we now know how to print something in two or more colours.

Mr. Mac made lasagna for dinner the day before, because it tastes even better. Mr Gadget love home made lasagna with garlic bread, so does the rest of the family. He even had time to play with his little sister and they had great fun.

The VT Boys and Girls have been playing MineCraft

The VT Boys and Girls have been playing MineCraft this weekend, as Mr Gadget had a sleepover which was very nice for all of us,specifically VT Girl Nr.4 was very happy with that as she was allow to play MineCraft on Mr. Garfields account.

We also upgraded our Intel i7 2600 Windows machine (Hackingtosh) and installed Windows 10 Pro dual boot. The new graphic card is awesome even it is only an NVidia GTX 1050 Ti with 4Gb of DDR5 ram.
VT Girl Nr.4 also created this from Lego - Airplane Hotel
We had a nice roast for dinner - thanks to VT Girl Nr.1 which we all enjoyed very much. VT Girl Nr 3 came with us to bring Mr.Gadget back home which is also nice for Mr.Mac so he has some company on the way back.

VT Girl Nr.4 also has been on the honors board this February as she is been really good for the last 5 weeks at school. See pics below as proof - wow we are really proud.

The VT Boys have been working hard

The VT Boys have been working hard a few weeks ago. Mr.Mac Senior had to build a few new machines for his clients, a couple of workstations, a new HyperV server with two windows 7 pro guests and setup a new Microsoft Surface Book i5.

It was nice to spend some time together - but we have been working really hard to get things ready. To start the day off we had some breakfast at MC Donalds, We started the build the two workstations with Windows 7 Pro, these only took us 1 hour, we then build a Sky Lake i3 workstation and i5 HyperV server with Windows 2012 R2.
We had some lunch and we installed the anniversary edition on the Surface Book of windows 10 - this is a very nice piece of kit, but still way over priced.
After helping out in the shop, we closed the office and had some dinner at the Calvary - very nice

The VT Boys are impressed with the new Apple MacBook

The VT Boys are impressed with the new Apple MacBook  - what a lovely computer this is, especially Mr.Gadget loved this model, so thin, fast and the sound is bringing this ultra laptop to another level.

This model is powered by the new Intel Core M processor 1.1Ghz with a turbo boost of 2.4Ghz, it has 256Gb Flashdrive, 8Gb DDR3 1600Mhz memory and a Retina screen. Running MacOS 10.12.3. We made some photos to see the difference between the MacBook Air 2015, MacBook Pro 15" mid 2009 and the new MacBook 2015 Retina - wow this computer is very thin, even if you compare it with the MacBook Air 2015.

Mr.Gadget has not been feeling well over the last few days and has been of school since Wednesday, today he is been feeling better but is taken it easy. He still had time to play with his little sister - Mastermind. Hopefully he will be recovered soon. We will pray for him as we always do.

The VT Boys have been building a successful Hackingtosh

The VT Boys have been building a successful Hackingtosh today. Based on a Intel Sandy-bridge i7 3.4Ghz 2600K, with 8Gb DDR3 1333Mhz RAM and nVidia GT530 Graphics card. The install was very easy to do and all the bits are working great, sound, network and graphics.
We downloaded Geekbench 4 and we had a whooping score of 10773 which is super fast for a Hackingtosh. The Cinebench score was also very good, but the graphics let it down. Mr.Gadget loved the new build and hopefully will be able to install the latest MacOS 10.12.
This build has 10.10.1 OSX and looks very good, we have installed VMWare fusion 7.0 with a Windows 10 Pro Virtual machine and that works great. In the past we had installed OSX Lion 10.7 on a HP ProBook 4350 and that was working just like a MacBook Pro 15" i5.

The VT Boys have been playing Master Mind

The VT Boys have been playing Master Mind this weekend and we had great fun. This was a game we had not played for a long time and even VT Girl No.3 also jointed in and it was amazing she was very good of playing the game.

She won most of the games and one game she had it right in only two go's. Mr.Gadget was also very good and really enjoyed playing it. we also had time to build a new Google Nexus phone dock, which took 3 hours to print but looked very good.

Three weeks ago we build a new computer with some nice specs. Haswell i3 3.6Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 1600 RAM, AMD R7 240 Graphics Card and 120Gb SSD, build in a nice cube style case. This computer is really fast and had a geekbench score of well over 7500.
