The VT Boys & Girls have a relaxing day

The VT Boys & Girls have a relaxing day as things have been a bit busy over the last few months, Mr.Gadget is about moving house and have started the last year at school. VT Girl No.2 is enjoying her college, learning about animal care and VT Girl No.3 is trying not to get in to trouble all the time.

VT Girl No.1 is waiting for the big arrival - we can't wait. The last weeks or days are the hardest, you can't sleep properly and everything is moving inside. We truly pray that all goes well and whatever it is a boy or girl we will be very happy.

Yesterday Mr.Gadget spend some time with VT Girl No.3 to play some games, and tried out the New Apple iPad, he was very impressed. We also finished of the new server and are now copying over all the data (Lots of it)

The VT Boys and Girls had visitors last Sunday

The VT Boys and Girls had visitors last Sunday, Mr Garfield with Girlfriend are in Norfolk seeing the family. The reason was because Mr.Mac Junior and girlfriend got engaged and they gave a big party in March. So Mr.Garfield was also invited for the weekend, that was the perfect opportunity for him to visit us.

We had a very nice day together and talked a lot, we also had to do some shopping so Mr.Garfield was able to use his Tesco discount card, not bad.

We had fish and chips for dinner and ice-cream for afters, in the evening Mr.Mac drove them back to Cambridgeshire - so that the next day they travelled back to Bognor Regis.

The VT Boys done a Kaby Lake Intel i7

The VT Boys done a Kaby Lake Intel i7 this week, here are the specs: Intel Kaby Lake i7 7700 3.6Ghz processor with 16Gb DDR4 2100Mhz RAM, WD Black M.2 256Gb Flash drive, ASUS NVidia GTX 1060 3G Graphics and NZTY Elite 360 Case. See pictures below.
This machine is fast - really fast, the CUDA Score is about 2000 higher that a GTX 970, and Geekbench 4 reported just over 15000, not bad.
Boot times are fast - just under 2 seconds and we are not even talking about the new WD Black M.2 flashdrive just shy over 1800mbps - wow. Over the next few weeks we are going to put this machine to the test and see if it is really the one to go for.

The VT Boys had to do a repair

The VT Boys had to do a repair on the AMD FX8350 computer as it was running very slow, especially when running high graphics games, at first we thought it was the graphics card (GTX960) however after checking the temperature of the processor it run in the high 60 celsius which is for a FX8350 to high, so it only could be two things - the CPU was faulty or the terminal paste was gone.
We opened the case and removed the water cooler (Thanks Mr.Gadget) and cleaned the CPU and applied new paste - turned the water cooler around - closed the case again and switched the computer back on.
We opened Project Cars and run a few test laps - wow that made a real difference, now the CPU only stayed at 48 Celsius, great improvement. So now we can run the games on the higher settings and we have no delays in graphics. Great stuff.
Mr Gadget also had time to play Minecraft with VT Girl No.3 and some other games on the iPad - snakes or something. We had Lasagna for tea which I made and ice-cream for afters.

The VT Boys had a trip to Twickenham Rugby Stadium

The VT Boys had a trip to Twickenham Rugby Stadium this week which was very interesting. I am not a rugby fan but is was fascinating to see how it all works. We where invited for a VIP tour last Thursday in London with a stay in the Marriott Hotel with a lovely meal in the Royal box.
The stadium was big, with beautiful grass and over 82000 seats, lots of history attached to this stadium and it is the home ground to the International English Rugby team.

The VT Boys have been building a Super computer

The VT Boys have been building a Super computer this weekend, we ordered in all the parts, new AVP Cube case, 750 Watt PSU, ASUS 1050 Motherboard, Kingston S400 SSD flash drive, Intel Haswell 4130 i3 3.4Ghz processor, AMD 6850 1Gb Graphics card and 16Gb DDR3 1600 memory, now you would think this makes a good Windows Gaming computer, however we had other plans with it.
Of course Mr.Gadget build the computer because he is very good at that, all the cables have been routed properly and secured. We build a few week ago a new USB stick with MacOS Sierra 10.12.3 and booted the machine up.
We installed the drivers, setup iCloud and Microsoft Office 2016. Everything works great, before we had trouble with the sound, wifi, and Time Machine and the machine will Panic Screen, but not this time, it is fast doing about 7600 points on the Geekbench App - not bad.
In the next few week we are going to build  - a better one, based on a Kaby Lake i7 7700K, Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics card and M.2 flash drives, watch this space.

The VT Boys & Girls have been to the Mini Meet in King's Lynn

The VT Boys & Girls have been to the Mini Meet in King's Lynn last weekend and it was great, not only have we met Minky for the first time, but more than 200 other mini models from very new to the very old ones.

We pickup Mr.Gadget from Wisbech and drove strait to the meet in King's Lynn, we parked in the main King's Lynn car park, paid by phone for the ticket and we set course to Tuesday Market Place which was not to far to walk.
We meet up with Keri & Paul who proudly showed us Minky the 57 year old Mini, it was in perfect state and everything was original out and inside. Lots of Mini's had been done up with bigger wheels and spoilers. There was a live band playing all sorts and lots of people about. We stated for 1 hour made several pictures and drove back home.
We had bacon butties for lunch which was very nice.
