The VT Boys have a birthday

The VT Boys have a birthday, today Mr.Mac Junior is 22 years old and he is spending it in his new home. He has a lovely house with his girlfriend just outside of March in Cambridgeshire, 2 bedrooms and a study for all his equipment.

His is also working really hard everyday following the footsteps of his dad, but better. He loves his job and just moved to a new office in the City.
Mr Mac Senior is very lucky to see him often and now he lives in his own house, maybe sometime we can have dinner together - I am looking forward to that.
Have a nice day Mr.Mac Junior and I Love you very much. (Je bent a lekkere jonge, and ik ben erg trots op je, mij Amsterdamse man)

The VT Boys are building a Hackintosh

The VT Boys building a Hackingtosh this weekend, from a old Apple Mac Mini G4 1.25Ghz and a Raspberry Pie Model 2. It was really Mr.Gadget who build it and it looks absolutely fantastic, when you look at the picture you can see the raspberry pie in the middle, the HDMI to DVI adapter mounted in the back, two USB extenders an RJ45 convertor and power coming out of the old modem slot.

Currently the MacRaspberry is running XBMC and the next following weekend we are going to test it out on our network and see how it works.

We also had time to play our racing competition on the Playstation 3 and of course Mr.Garfield won all the games. Today tea was made by him as well Babi Ketjab with green beans and ice cream for afters. We also watched some youtube videos about all different BMW cars.
We left a 7pm and had a nice drive back to Cambridgeshire in Mr.Mac Seniors new BMW 5 Series which was very fast and comfortable to drive in.

The VT Boys had a easy time

This weekend the VT Boys had a easy time and because we met on the Sunday we had a little bit less time together, however next weekend we will do the Saturday again.
We had a lovely lunch Mr.Gadget had ham sandwich and Mr Mac Senior and Mr.Garfield had Tuna and mayonnaise sandwich's. In the afternoon we watched Back to the Future II and we spend a little time on sorting out our new project how to fit a Raspberry Pie in an Apple Mac Mini case.
We need to buy a few parts to make work, but it is possible to make it work, we will see next weekend how we getting on.

For dinner we had Chicken in White Wine sauce made by Mr.Gadget and it was lovely.

The VT Boys having a busy day at work

The VT Boys having a very busy day at work (well sort of). We left at 8:00am in the morning to get ourselves some Mac Donald's breakfast, Mr.Gadget had a big breakfast with milk, Mr Garfield and Mr.Mac a breakfast wrap with brown sauce and ketchup.
Our famous Sausage rolls we made the day before
With no traffic on the roads we arrived in Norwich at 8:45am so a bit to early, but never mind we had plenty to do anyway. One of the first jobs Mr.Garfield had to do was to rebuild a HP desktop from the network, not a difficult job to do however very time consuming and a lot of additional applications had to be installed after the operating system was updated.
VT Boys still asleep
Mr.Gadget had to build a HP 6720s laptop with Windows XP Professional Service 3, load all the drivers and install Microsoft Office 2007 with the latest service pack. After he completed it he had to strip a laptop for parts and put them away so I was able to find if and when I needed them.
For lunch we had left over Lasagne from the day before and it was even better tasting and the whole office was sticking of garlic. After lunch Mr Garfield had to update two laptops with some security policies, at the corporate wallpapers and make sure that they had remote assist installed.
For the rest of the afternoon what was left over from it we played some computer board games, had some snacks and drinks and left on our way to Cambridgeshire to go back home. We all had a lovely time and we can't wait till coming December to do the same again.

The VT Boys like Christmas time

The VT Boys like Christmas time, this is the time of year we spend a lot of time together doing lots of things and play with our new Tech. This year we had a few surprises in store both for Mr.Gadget and Mr.Garfield. First we had 4 days together which does not happen that often and also we have the yearly returning tradition of going to Mr.Mac's Senior work to do some jobs.
But first of all we had to unwrap our gifts (well nobodies gifts are wrapped) however Mr.Gadget wanted a new computer case, some fancy big fans and a fan controller to take out old bits from his computer and build a new one (more of this later).
Mr.Garfield never knows what he wants, so Mr.Mac came up with a good idea, why not buy him a New iPad Mini as he likes his iPhone but really could do with a bigger screen. Well it was really a big surprise for him (this does not happen often with him) - he loved it and could not stop playing with it for the whole of the 4 days.
Also this year Mr.Mac Senior had a gift from the remainder of the VT Boys - a perfect gift, the complete set of Back to The Future on Blu-Ray, with quality picture and sound and I am very happy with that.
In the evening we had no time to watch a film because we had so much to talk about that we had a late night doing really nothing other than talk.
Of course on Saturday morning Mr.Gadget could not wait to start his PC building project, so we all started the work on that after we had our showers and breakfast. It all started really good and in no time we had the old computer stripped from his bits, however we found out that the power supply from the old computer fitted but the cables to the motherboard did't fit. So we had to go to our local computer shop and buy a new power supply with longer cables.
After the power supply was fitted, the computer was back up and running and look beautiful, the front had a new fan controller, control by touch and inside 4 new fans with blue lights, the whole unit was very quiet and was running better than ever. After all this work we where hungry so we got ourselves a Subways with drinks.
Lasagne Ready to go in the oven
In the evening we watched a little telly, and stuffed our faces with food and drink. The next day we spend playing some computer games and watched a few films. In the evening we had Lasagne which we all enjoyed. We all had a early night as for the following day we had to go to work.
